Prinkshop products call out global issues and causes that need to be addressed, giving a voice to its customers. Founder Pamela J. Bell, one of four original partners of Kate Spade, empowered The Science Project to design and build Prinkshop’s first online store, with a product page that reads like a philanthropic who’s who. The webOS app discovery magazine.
Welcome to Pivot, the very first shoppable tablet publication about apps.
Working with Hewlett-Packard, The Science Project created the entire magazine vision from scratch, from conceiving of the editorial mission and visual design to developing the issue architecture and digital publishing pipeline that created 9 global editions in 6 languages each month. We even named it.
Pivot served as an integrated companion to the HP TouchPad App Catalog, providing a new way for consumers to discover apps through content placed into the context of their modern, mobile lives.
The editorial staff and contributors to Pivot were seasoned journalists, editorial photographers and artists. Contributors included Sag Harbor author Colson Whitehead and award-winning magazine writer David Lipsky. Our illustrators and photographers had previously been published in The New York Times, Vogue, GQ, Esquire, Fast Company and The New Yorker. And Pivot brought them all together.
On the e-commerce side, Pivot offered premium shelf-space for webOS app developers, from independent artist-inventors to major development partners like Amazon and Time Inc.
Select the issue number and edition you want to browse. Enjoy!
