All Wrapped Up!

Building on Bloomingdale's wonderfully kitschy All Wrapped Up holiday campaign, The Science Project conceived of the entire holiday window experience at Bloomingdales and introduced an array of interactive experiences dedicated to bringing holiday shoppers into the story and into the store. The highlights were Memora-A-Bow, Peek-A-Bow, and Whack-A-Bow - three interactive games that allowed shoppers to playfully compete for in-store prizes using their smartphone as a game controller. Incredi-bow! Watch the games in action!

"She Says" get the party started!

The Science Project’s goal was to create excitement and dialog with new customers even before the doors to the new store opened. We wanted to deliver not only the fanciful customer engagement we love from Kate Spade New York but also a system that capture crucial data, drove purchase and had lasting value to their retail ecosystem. The Science Project leveraged our cloud based in-store platform Shopstage to build strong, stable, secure and scalable ...quickly! The Kate Spade New York Barricades are a simple, satisfying interactive moment yet accomplish so much more! Have a look at The Barricade in action!

Boston Proper In-Store

Boston Proper's Theater of Retail

In our never ending quest for the ultimate square footage retail model The Science Project brought its very own Theater of Retail to CHICOS FAS’ Boston Proper stores.  Built from a brand that had a cult following and a native direct connection with their customer.  We lead an ambitious omnichannel effort that grew from a unique alignment  of technology and brand. Currently our Shopstage platform is deployed in every new Boston Proper store opening.

Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Windows

Snow Flicks

For the Yeti Snow Workshop at Saks Fifth Avenue, The Science Project created unique mobile technology to pull passersby and window visitors into the magic of snowfall and the Yeti's igloo. As each visitor accesses the mobile experience, he or she can discover their 'Yeti' name, pick a snowflake and flick it with his or her device into the window itself, where it materializes in the sky and falls gently to the ground. Experience the making of the Yeti >

Gaga Constellation

Our tweet-powered holiday installation at Barneys!

This installation graced Barneys' spectacular holiday windows, letting people from the sidewalk to Sydney tweet their holiday wishes into the display. We love bringing digital to retail, and this project was a dreamy collaboration with Nicola Formichetti, Q4, Tim Richardson and The Mill.

Shopstage at White House/Black Market

Table It.

Shopstage is an interactive touchscreen platform for the store environment that is customizable to suit a brand's look, feel, and purpose. For White House / Black Market, we fine-tuned Shopstage to the customer experience: to engage with seasonal messaging, search for distinct products, or share styling experiences with a brand retail associate. Shopstage seeks to surface the full range of a brand's luxury content and product, creating an "endless aisle" for shoppers, forging stronger customer-associate relationships, and hosting distinct interactive innovations to build a truly unique retail experience.

Nestlé Crunch

Nestlé Crunch

The mantra of Nestlé Crunch: have a little fun every day. Or a whole lot of fun in one day. International Pillow Fight Day. Boom! Working with Ogilvy NY, TSP created 40 custom-built pillow impact sensors, fielded 4 outrageously clad teams of pillow fighters and let then have it out on each other in a feathery battle royale. 11 cameras. 70 cast and crew. One amazing day. (And, yes, this was exactly as fun to make as it appears.)

HP webOS Pivot

The first shoppable tablet magazine about apps.

The webOS app discovery magazine.

Welcome to Pivot, the very first shoppable tablet publication about apps.

Working with Hewlett-Packard, The Science Project created the entire magazine vision from scratch, from conceiving of the editorial mission and visual design to developing the issue architecture and digital publishing pipeline that created 9 global editions in 6 languages each month. We even named it.

Pivot served as an integrated companion to the HP TouchPad App Catalog, providing a new way for consumers to discover apps through content placed into the context of their modern, mobile lives.

The editorial staff and contributors to Pivot were seasoned journalists, editorial photographers and artists. Contributors included Sag Harbor author Colson Whitehead and award-winning magazine writer David Lipsky. Our illustrators and photographers had previously been published in The New York Times, Vogue, GQ, Esquire, Fast Company and The New Yorker. And Pivot brought them all together.

On the e-commerce side, Pivot offered premium shelf-space for webOS app developers, from independent artist-inventors to major development partners like Amazon and Time Inc.

Select the issue number and edition you want to browse. Enjoy!
